Interests


Music is a big part of my life and provides daily joy. My mother was
trained as a classical piano accompanist and I grew up hearing her
play the piano.   Fortunately my unsuccessful piano lessons didn't
spoil my appreciation of piano music. Later I did master the clarinet,
learned to play a couple of other instruments, and sang with various
groups over the years. Now I content myself with singing in the
shower and listening  - attentively -  to recorded music.

Reading is another passion, whether books, periodicals, web-based
content, or CD liner notes. Good writing above all.   Non-fiction
predominates in my reading list:  include history and biography,
science and technology, psychology, the arts, and self-help /
self-improvement.  Fiction interests include mystery, western,
thrillers, and an occasional classic.  My reading list.
